Re: Sims 4 Cats and Dogs - Cats not using scratching post

@pinkkeewee

If you want to, just to make sure what could be wrong, you could do this test that I just did. Create a sim with 7 cats in a household, and on the lot, only place a few counters and scratching things, and the cats should interact with them within a few sim hours (turn up speed).

The jumped up on my counters right away but it took a bit longer until they scratched 🙂

    Wow than you so much! I repaired my game and then made a lot and had a sim with 7 cats. It worked! Although I noticed that at first the cats interacted with the scratching posts (which was amazing!) but after that they didn't really take any notice of the big scratching posts. Also I figured that the cats (at least for me) would mainly go on the counters (which they did as well!) when I out food on them. But I am so relived that my game isn't broken although I'm hoping that the cats take more interest in the larger scratching posts. Thank you so much for the help 🙂

    No problem! :eahigh_file:

    Yeah, They will eat human food if you leave it out there until you train them not to (if you want, you can also just let them eat the human food) 🙂

    In my game, I have some cats that use the scratching post more than other cats, and some of the scraping posts seem more popular. Unsure if the cats have preferences or if it's just that they're closer. Pets like to be close to your sim and each other, so if you put a scratching post close to where your sim usually hangs out when awake and home, they might use it more often! Good luck with your game! :D
