Re: Sims can flirt without being told?

Sadly, played(inactive) sims can flirt and will sometimes flirt. Most the time is a sim with romantic trait.

If you want to use mods: ModsTheSims have a mod named stop random flirting + no random NPC Romance + No Autonomous Rude/Flirty/Enchanting. I use it in my modded game and never encountered again a new love relationship. (MCC have also settings to stop random flirting but I don’t use MCC)

My vanilla game suffers from same problem, but it helps not to use the romantic trait or use the unflirty trait. Ah and do not skill charisma, sims can use enchanting introduction with her autonomy. (I think the half from my love interest are from this introduction in vanilla)

One of my Sims' husbands autonomously used Enchanting Introduction on...

    Patchy.

    I ask you.

(I was playing him in a vanilla game! and didn't tell him to do it, he just did.)

I also rotated in to find a romance bar between this man's wife and his father.  GACK!!!!!!  I actually downloaded MCCC for the first time to get rid of it.  (I know, some people would totes LIVE for that kind of drama, but I'm not one of them!)

I’m too not a fan of this mechanic. If it good coded I have no problem with it but my say... 100 Year old Vampire with a binding-system for only one true love in an live should not flirt with the mom from his wife! (Generally he should only flirt with his wife in this setting)

Sims 4 really need a faithful setting to stop this nonsense in a vanilla game. I do not want drama in my game; I do not want cheating sims. I think RL have enough from this crap. I do not want that my sims suffer from this so please give us a faithful reward trait. Other player can have her cheatings spouses/lovers, and player who do not want this give their sims this trait.

I like the sims being flirty and chaotic, but would use a Reward Store Trait for faithfulness on the sim couples I intend to be monogamous.

I have seen wishes about this on Sims Forum as well, and in that forum there are SimGurus posting in various threads, and so appearantly reading some of them. A tip would be to post about it there as well, descriptively. I have never seen the SimGurus post in this section, and only twice I have seen the moderators state they will forward an idea to the Sims Team.

  • @daikoyu thank you, I dropped 3 households from another load in to New Crest last night. All 3 husband and wife households. They kept the skills and job rank etc but wanted to send them on one date each to re raise the friendship and romance bars
.. then the Welcome Wagon came and bam someone complimented another's appearance and enemies were formed and 2 that weren't the active household got the furious from cheating sentient.

This was a Myshuno load but decided to bring some fave families in from another load and with Naps off its happening in New crest as well. Though to be fair one couple had already gone on a date but they weren't the ones who did the flirting though they were flirty. It's "compliment appearance" causing this most often because I recognize the thought bubble. It didn't create a pink bar with the other but I had damage control to do after.

I may have to add these mods, thank you for the suggestion, because an occasional incident I could understand and if my naps were on I could see that happening but it's happening constantly even when sims aren't flirty. The culprit is most often the compliment appearance sending my sims into a "punch blarfy rage"

The sims who suddenly have romantic interests I'm not sure what's causing that because I'm not around when they develop.

None of my sims have high enough charisma in this load to do the enchanting intro... which I hate 😆 that thing creates relationships all over del sol in another load

I'll check these mods, thank you 😊

On patchy!? And a dad? Oh my, so far mine have just been within friendship circles and a few random possible co workers and stall vendors @xochiquetzl_xkvn

  • @daikoyu Agreed, I would love a faithfulness reward. We do a bachelor type challenge in a load specifically for that. Once we feel like the perfect match has been made we save them to the library and move them into a more "main load" so they have no prior dating relationships and only have the soul mate status with their new spouse. So I don't go through, what is a long soul mate challenge, only to have them be unfaithful when I'm not around with a random npc.
    It's terribly annoying

    LOL, yes, Patchy.

And yes, my hunky bodybuilder who autonomously did an Enchanting Introduction is married to a musician, and when I came back she had a romance bar with his elder father.  The father has also autonomously flirted with his daughter's wife, but it didn't go anywhere (maybe the game realizes she's GAY).  He doesn't have any traits that would cause that, IMHO:  He's good, outgoing, and a genius.  I mean, I do love him, but that just makes me want him to NOT cheat on his wife with his son's wife!

@xochiquetzl_xkvn Patchy!?!?!? 🤣 That is crazy!

@DonroaAkashu , I also thought that Sim Gurus never came here to read (let alone post), but right after I had posted that on another thread, I saw that one of them had posted so I had to go and strike out what I had posted earlier. 😅  (I didn't delete it, just used the Strikethrough formatting tool so people wouldn't get the wrong information 😉 ) I also have a friend who has seen Sim Gurus on here multiple times.  Also, I very frequently see other EA employees post here and say they will pass the message on! 😎  And many more read these pages even if they don't post because I have seen them award XP to many of the posts.

@daikoyu , I agree that their should be a Faithful setting, trait, or Aspiration Reward !  Something that assures this won't happen to certain Sims.  This is extremely disruptive to Storyteller's creations!  Also, I have the vast majority of my Sims be faithful, with only a few who are not because it fits their Aspiration or personality, or fits a story I'm telling. But I usually prefer faithful Sims, even those who aren't married and are just dating! 🥰  And this kind of cheating is bad enough, but when it is with in-laws that is just unacceptable. 😓

@xochiquetzl_xkvn So I was playing last night and it was Winterfest and things were going well
    Until...
Clement Frost flirted with the wife and it created a pink bar 🥴 the husband then proceeded to beat up blarfy and several angry poo's later I got to fix yet ANOTHER furious sentiment. And because it's Clement I can't get him to leave the house on winterfest so I just sent the wife to bed. She didn't even start it he just decided to hit on her out of thin air. Because she didn't start it, she couldn't apologize and I had to manually remove the sentiment

Nothing like getting slapped because Clement is the most obnoxious Sim ever. At least in my game he's always showing up and inviting my sims to festivals.

I don't have legacy style families but in laws should be forbidden. Ew. Just....no lol 😆

    @wahini2024  I totally agree!  No in-laws!  EW!!!!!

Also, oh yikes, my condolences on Santa Father Winter hitting on your Sim's wife!

I've had to take ol' Clement to the park the day after Winterfest and leave him there because he wouldn't leave and decided he lived at our house now.

@wahini2024 , sounds like Father Winter should be on his own Naughty List!!! 🤣  He is definitely not on the Nice List! 😉
I think NPC"s like Father Winter and Patchy have random personalities.  My first Patchy was Evil, so i thought they all were, but my friend's Patchy was something nice (I forget what) .  So I added another Patchy to another lot and he was a Genius! 😂 So I would think this might be the case for Clement Frost and the Flower Bunny as well. (I think I checked a long time ago, but I'm not sure) . 😉

@PugLove888 Clement is the worst for me 😅 it's not the first time he got flirty with a sim it's just the first time he's created a romance bar and I had to ask to be just friends
Most of the time he gives gifts of "sadness and lies", won't leave my home, eats my food and once called for a date with no romance bar 🤪
If I didn't enjoy Winterfest I'd never deal with that bad Santa again
I do wonder if I could create my own and be done with Clement forever 😂 he's so obnoxious

The flower bunny is mildly creepy and CAN/ DOES get flirty but so far hasn't made random flirty comments though I tend to hold my breath a little because I know it's possible at any moment

My Patchy is a non issue thankfully!

Whenever I saw Clements, he uses Enchanting Introduction on a random Sim, often on a Sim from my rotation. Since then, I always delete Clements and remove him from holiday tradition in my vanilla save. I do not mind flirty Santa but please don’t flirt with my sims. Please use the wrestling townie or the raccoon townie, I think these townies need rather your love as my happy married sim.

  • @daikoyu I think I'm going to go ahead and delete him and create a new winter holiday without him. I'm constantly trying to avoid him by having my sims fall asleep before he arrives but half the time he doesn't leave and he comes over unannounced when it isn't even winterfest. What a pest!
