Re: Winrar files taking up too much space

@gypsygeee Where do you store the files ? In the mods folder ? Rar files shouldn't be in the mods folder, so yeah, move them to an external drive for safe keeping (old ones that are outdated are not needed anymore at all and you can just delete) in case you need to reinstall them.

They are def. not needed within the game folders and can lead to slowness.

  • Oh no! I keep my Rar files in my downloads folder and keep only the extracted ones in the sims folders for the game. I have copies of the sims 3 and sims 4 folders for game play but like I said I have been keeping ALL of my winrar compression files as well. And although they aren’t in the sims folders I fear with the amount I have it could be what’s causing the slowness as well?

Also with content becoming outdated, once you’ve extracted and played for however long, how do you end up knowing which and what custom content has become outdated or not?
I have so much cc and noticed sometimes when they change outfits the patchy glare shiny error in their appearance happens but can’t ever figure out what is the cause or what item it may be as, as you know a lot of items go into dressing the sim character, could be hair, jewellery, shoes, piercings, god knows! HOW DO YOU FIND THIS OUT?!
