Rental unit not working

Hello I have a rental plot with 3 rental units on it and one of them will not highlight to be used, I have changed the plot, I have reset the units but still the same rental will not work any ideas as to why?

I play on xbox next gen

After much frustration and busting my brain over and over again to work out this issue I decided to plug my pc mouse into my xbox and low and behold I could click on the unit, I feel this is an issue to do with the control set up for the sims it does not allow you to move freely to the icons and such with the xbox controller.

just add thing the key icon is on the map but it will not let me click on it.

The LT and RT buttons do not work to get on to the traits and challenges in rental when I move up and down it just skips past it toally.
Im on xbox next gen
