Yes, I do feel like that sometimes.
It even affects me when I set sim's hot weather and cold weather clothing. I think that helps me pick the outfit better and be frustated over opened ziplocks in cold weather clothing (especially for children and toddlers) (I'd freeze to death quickly as I get cold quicker). I sometimes remove the feminine tag just to have female sims wear puffer jackets.
