I have a similar issue.. except my Sim was a rank 10 chef and got the event of either to stay as an executive chef, or get a one time payment and fame. However... no payment. Yes, game was cleanly installed and blah blah blah.
@Zildywen If you don't like how this turned out, try restoring a backup save, from before your sim retired. Here's how:

- @puzzlezaddict I don't know if it was really a retirement from a mechanical point of view. I'm under the impression that retirement means paycheck every so often and you're an elder. in my case, I'm 1) a young adult with a vampire, 2) rank 10 Chef. The event gave a choice. 1st being to quit the job and take the one time payment (this is what I never got) and fame or just keep working. Hope that clears everything up. As it were, I'm just having my chef sim just go back to college and get her degree in cullinary so I can just pick right back up. Not sure where the backup saves are and I'm too far ahead right now that I dont know if I'd want to. I'm just pointing out the bug in small hopes EA will acknowledge and address it.
