Seem to be unable to assign rooms as public, residential or employees only

I already responded to this and explained what the issue was, but my reply has disappeared. Odd. But I see new interest in the issue so I’m going to take the trouble write it out again.

The problem was me assigning the lot as a small business lot instead of residential. Small business lots don’t have assigned rooms because you can’t live in them. In order to be able to assign the rooms you have to select the residential lot type, assign at least one sim to the lot, go into live mode and then have them click on a ticket kiosk and select register small business. After that you go back into build mode and you will be able to assign the rooms. In my case the selections that the original builder had made were still active once I did this, so I only had to assign the new rooms I added to the build.
