Sim came home from work with "Panicky Work Withdrawl"

My sim came home from work with panicky work withdrawal a couple of sim days ago.  I was hoping it would disappear the next day after she went back to work.  But it didn't, instead she came home with that same moodlet, as well as desperately needing a vacation?  The work withdrawal moodlet has no time limit on it, she's been to work twice since that popped up, and she's so tensed all the time that she can't do anything.  What's going on?

  • Great, so all my sheltered planted flowers have reset to dirt piles now as she's been unable to tend to them because she's so tense.  She is working as a flower arranger, and is unable to do her job because she's so stressed about not going to work, when she's been working hard.

I'm not familiar with the moodlet, so I don't know whether it means your Sim should continue to Work Hard, ease up to Normal, or take some time off. lt sounds like she might have the Workaholic Lifestyle, so you might consider using the Lifestyle-Go-Poof, Instant Fun, or Moodlet Solver potions from the Reward Store to see if they help. A more permanent solution would be the Carefree trait, which also comes from the Reward Store. You might even consider turning Lifestyles off completely in the Game Settings.

For the gardening, I would suggest hiring a Gardening Service through the phone.

  • @EvilVampyre The workaholic lifestyle is pretty buggy. Have you tried letting your sim go to work on off hours instead of waiting until the next official shift?
  • She did have the Workaholic lifestyle, I've removed it with the potion and she all good again, thanks.  I just wish they would fix these bugs instead of us having to do these workarounds all the time.  The fact that she was upset because she felt she was missing work, but also felt overworked and wanted a vacation, just doesn't make any sense.

@EvilVampyre What career is your Sim is ? Trying to match this with an existing bug report but I all I can find is issues with WFH careers
  • @crinrict She is the in the gardening career, gone the flower arranging route.  So it is a career that can be done from home.  She's never actually worked from home though, gone into work every time she had a shift.  The only time she's had off, is a few days of family leave.

  • @crinrict Wow, a 3 year old bug report.  When I posted this though, I did a search for other threads with the same issue, and couldn't really find any. I doubt I'm the only one with this bug, but it doesn't seem to be a far-reaching one.  I've corrected it now, thanks to the replies here, but I'll add to that bug report if it returns and see if I can gather more info about what caused it.

    Thanks for the help.

@EvilVampyre I'm currently unsure if I should merge the threads as the OP of the that mostly talks about it happening while working from home/going on a gig but not if you just send them rabbitholestyle.
