Sim Family Just Vanished...

Can someone help me?

 I'm having an issue with one of my families in-game. I play multiple households, and I just realized that a certain Sim family wasn't showing up in other Sims/Family members friend panels anymore. I decided to have a Sim go to visit their lot (because sometimes the game removes Sims from the friendship panel), and when searching for the family, their lot was empty.

 I then go to build mode to see if all their things were still there, and they are. All their original pictures are hanging on the wall, and everything, but the family is just gone. Things I have tried to do: I removed my mods folder and reloaded the game, no family. I checked the "my household," and they are not there either. Neither are they in the "other households" tab. I also checked my saved sims in the gallery-not there(they weren't created there, but more so born in-game). I recovered an old save that only goes back to 11-22, still no family. Does anyone know how I could get them back, or am I doomed? 😕

    Since this is a recovery issue, not a mods issue at this point (if it ever was), I"m moving you to Gameplay for support. Do check if you have a pre-patch backup saved outside the game folders.

    ILoveSims3355​  I have no idea really why your household went missing.   There are several things that could have happened along the way that could cause it.  The only thing I can suggest to get them back is what luthienrising​ referred to:  Look for an older save if you have any backups set aside somewhere.  If you can find one, then either play that or save the household to your Library and reinstall them in your current save.

    I do have a backup saves folder, but the last time I backed up my Saves folder was back in February 😩 I have accomplished so much with my Sims since then. Can I recover a save game from within the save folder?

    Ok, how can I save the household from an old save? That seems less stressful to do lol

    Open the old game, take the family into CAS, then save them to your library. Then go back to the current save and place them from your library into their empty house. You’ll still need to re-introduce your sims to them as relationships outside the household won’t be preserved.

    ILoveSims3355​  You can do a recovery to see if there is a version of the save that still has the household in it.  Just use the Load menu and choose the top save and hit the recover button next to the play and delete buttons.  Keep in mind, unless the household went missing recently, they may not be there.  There are only 5 versions of each save so it might not go far enough back in time for you depending on when the sims went missing.

    On retrieving the sims from an old save.  What PipMenace​ said.  I do suggest you make a copy of your saves folder and set it aside somewhere else on your computer before doing anything though.  Just in case.
