Right. When your Sim won't stay asleep, that usually means there's something noisy in the same room, which is anywhere you can get to without going through a door.
This was an especially annoying problem for me when I first started playing TS4, because the original tutorial made me start in the Nookstone house in Oasis Springs and there was no door between the "bedroom" and the "living room". It looked like two different rooms, but it turned out to just be one large room, and visitors liked to turn on the TV and stereo if I didn't send them home before my Sim went to bed.
The problem was very easy to fix, once I realized what was happening. I just had to finish the wall between the two "rooms" and add a door.
