    Ok, it's working now. I'm not sure what the initial glitch was but when I tried to place the fireplace again on the same lot, I had no issues. Thanks for the help!

@psushgirl Did you try other lots ? It does look a bit tight there. Maybe remove the chair ?or move the oven one tile over

I tried moving everything away from it, moving it over 1 tile, and still nothing. Lighting fireplaces does seem to work on other lots, just not this one. I just went to a rental lot in Mt. Komorebi and the fireplace lights just fine there. I'll give it another try now that I've stayed on another lot and see if it works. Could the glitch be tied to a particular lot?
