Try the following
- Close the game
- Rename Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4 to Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4_Old
- Repair the game
- Start the game. All your content will be gone now as the game created a new folder. All your saves/.. is still in the old folder so not to worry. Be aware that your claimed event rewards will also be gone for the time being but you will get them back with your other things.
- Start a new save game
- Check if you still have the error
- Report back with your results for further steps on how to get your stuff back.
I was unable to knit or cross stitch too. When I did what you said I was able to again. It also worked when I started a new game without doing this. Can you let me know how to make it work in my active game?

You can now start to copy back things from Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4_Old to the new Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4 folder that was created.
First only copy (I suggest to copy so you can go back in case anything goes wrong along the way) the content of the folder Saves (these are your save games). If you are prompted if want to overwrite a save, decide if you want to keep that testing save you just made or not. If not, just overwrite if, if you want to keep it, rename the save to a different number that isn't taken.
Test just your save game with nothing else added back. If that works, you can start copying back the rest. If not, check back.
You will need the following folders
- Tray (your households and lots you have saved to library)- Custom Music (if you added any)
- Screenshots (if you've taken any)
- Videos (if you've taken any)
- ConfigOverride (if you made any although I recommend redoing those)
- Options(.ini) (although I recommend to just redo your settings in the game)
Now test again. If that still works, you can put back your mods. Put them back in groups and make sure they are still compatible with the game.
All other files are recreated and not needed. If it doesn't work on your save game before you put anything else back, please post back.

I did just the saves (not the entire folder but the saves modified in 2024). Cross stitch and knitting still did not work from my old save. Both worked in the new saves I started while troubleshooting. I repaired the game and tried again with the same results.
I don't know if this is relevant, but while it was broken, I was able to create a friendship bracelet using one of them, but I can't remember which. Also for knitting I have the option to frog my project so it had to have worked at some point in the game. When I tried she didn't do anything.

It seems to be just this sim. I played as a neighbor and they're able to do both. I sent them to my sim's house and they were able to cross stitch from her box.
- crinrict10 months agoHero+@prettypea The frogging is related to this issue: https://answers.ea.com/t5/Bug-Reports/OPEN-NKSP-Action-won-t-queue-for-Resume-Frog-Knitting/td-p/13896316
Could you upload that Sim to the gallery and post the name here ?
