Sims 4 - toddlers can't acquire any skills

Hey guys!

My toddlers can't acquire any skills in the game ever since I moved form Origin to EA. Whenever I try to select an item like the tablet or the potty, the only option I have is to put it in my inventory. 

Any ideas on how this can be fixed?
