@cromar31 There are two different kinds of Sims 4 data. One is the program files, the content that makes up the game itself and that Origin installs on your computer. This content can be installed almost wherever you want, so feel free to create a new folder on your hard drive called whatever you want and install Sims 4 there. That gets around any issues with the current install location.
The other kind of Sims 4 data is the user-generated content. This is always in Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4, and this folder contains your saves and anything else you've created or added in-game. (You should not install the game itself here.) This Sims 4 folder can be moved to allow the game to generate a new one, and you can transfer files back and forth between a copy of the folder in Documents\Electronic Arts and a backup somewhere else.
If you're having trouble figuring out how to proceed, please let me know what you're currently trying to do, where the folder is you're trying to use, and any other errors you see.
