Sims 4 error code 135

I've been looking around online and this code seems to indicate a problem w/ outdated mods...ok. BEFORE updating my game I copied my ENTIRE sims 4 folder into my external hard drive. Because I had this copy and access to the "save" I was playing at the time I did NOT delete anything out of the original folder. Instead I waited until the update was complete and a day or so later AFTER major mods such as MCCC, XML Injector, Ui etc were updated. To this date my original save that I was playing comes up with the above error. I've done the 50/50 mod search thing I and I believe I got rid of all of the "problems" that I'm aware of. I have a few other saves that I wasn't playing at the moment. These all load up fine. So I guess this means the original save got corrupted? I'm just confused because like I said earlier I made a copy of this before the update...so in a sense I should have a "fresh" save ready to go but this doesn't work either....can anyone advise what would cause a save to corrupt like this? If anyone else has experienced this issue, has there been a known fix yet? Any mods that you know of causing this (perhaps I missed one or two)

  • OdoProtector  Please try a double load:  Choose Load Game (not Resume), which will bring you to Manage Worlds.  Select the household in question and try to load it, generating the error.  Try again to load it immediately, without going back to the Main Menu or quitting.

If this doesn't help, can you load a different household within the same save?  Can you invite the original household over, or have the other sims visit?  Can you load the original household after moving them to a different lot?  What about the original lot in Build mode?  You don't need to save your progress after any of this; it's all just for testing purposes.

I see why you have hero+ next to your username because it WORKED!!!! Omg, I feel so silly bc I had some kind of error like that once where I DID do a double load, but for whatever reason, it NEVER occurred to me to just do it this time.

I'm guessing, then, that if I can get into live mode now, & assuming all is well with my current mods, saving the game should be safe enough?

      ANYWAY, THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!

OdoProtector  Yes, the save should be fine after your double load—that should have cleared the problem.  I would still use "save as" rather than "save" so you have the original save as a backup should you ever need it.  And keep an eye out for any irregularities that might be due to your mods.  But if you don't see any, you should be fine... at least until and unless you install the new expansion.

And you're very welcome.  Enjoy your game.

OdoProtector - thank you as well...this DID help my situation. I spent a lot of time trying to figure this out and was worried I'd have to start over on this particular save....but now I don't have too!!! Thanks again!

  • KERRYKELLY123  Please test this save with your Mods folder removed.  If that doesn't help, please post the entire error code.

As a side note, patching itself doesn't damage saves.  The problems come from loading saves with outdated mods, loading saves without certain mods or cc that leaves stranded objects (e.g. plates from custom recipes), and corruption from the effects of mods that changed save data in a way that is no longer workable.  So while keeping a backup copy of your saves is great, it does nothing to prevent any issues that relate to outdated mods or their effects on your game.

I'm having the same issue even while testing without mods. I've even checked my save file on a different computer that has no mods/cc & still get the same error code.

So I'll share the exact code I've been getting in case it's the same as OP's or for comparison: "135:3ce8528f:c8f10bcb". The weird thing is that the trouble started before I attempted updating my game, but while playing offline, I got a notification about needing internet to update, which makes me wonder if something started trying to update anyway.

Anyway, I've since tried to fix things & have even gone through old backups. I've been playing daily this month, but I get the same error code as far back as Oct. 12. The first save file that works for me is from Oct. 5th. Why? Don't know but am still hoping I might be able to recover something from a later date.

I'm having the same issue, too. Here is the full error code I keep getting. I tried what was recommended, but it does not work

  • Rhythmasian  To be clear, this happens with your Mods folder removed, and a double load doesn't help?  Can you load a different household in the same save?  You can select one from the Manage Worlds screen.  If that works, try inviting your sims over and switching to them.  See whether you can play them on the other lot, and if so, whether you can send them home.

  • nyahaqui  Please post the exact error you're seeing.  And if you use mods or custom content, please test without it.  You don't need to save your progress.

Please also open Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4 and delete any lastexception files you find.  Try again to load one of your households, and if and when it fails, look for a new LE.  If you find one, open it and delete its first line, then attach it to a reply here using the paper clip (Attachment) icon,

This is the code Ive been getting along with a 135:3ce8528f10bcb Ive tried double loading refreshing mods, removing them nothing has worked, when i was finally able to load into a save the next day it corrupted and i lost everything again i just want the reaper rewards and to not lose my gameplay

  • Rinmaruslays  This particular error 135 is related to mods, even ones you removed.  The master thread for the error mentions freelance careers:

    https://answers.ea.com/t5/Mods-CC-Issues/error-135-3ce8528f-c8f10bcb/m-p/14192171

I don't see a thread for your particular error 110, but this category is also often mod-related.

Can you load a different household within this save?  If so, play it for a bit, use "save as" to rename the save, quit, reload the game, and see whether you can go back to your main household.

I actually managed to create a new save that let me sort problematic mods, however i still cant get into my old saves since removing the mod still gives the error

  • Rinmaruslays  If you've been using any freelancer careers, please look for new versions of these mods that are confirmed compatible with patch 1.110, and add those back.  See whether it helps.

Please also let me know whether you can load a household you've never played in this save.

So I actually checked & it was the 110 milestone error that held me up ,once i put a mod to fix it I just double loaded without my usual mods and slowly read-added (50/50) then it worked. It was definitely my career mods causing the 135 and updating helped
