Sims 4 Gallery - Can't use hearts or other symbols

I'm on a Mac and even though I type <3 for a heart, it is missing from the comment when the box is ticked to submit it. So my simmer friends must think I'm pretty cold hearted! Can anyone help or shed some light on this for me. I would like to be able to add emotion to my comments just like everybody else. Just to add I turned off predictive text today, but it is still predicting??? Thanks for the help if you can.

@Gednaa The in-game gallery and the gallery in the browser are the same gallery, just in case I didn't clarify that. So if you add your hearts via the gallery in the browser they will show in the in-game gallery also, though sometimes it takes an hour or more, and sometimes also a restart of the game, to sync them so you see the same thing.
Also, you can download to your library from the browser gallery (again, as I mentioned with commenting in the browser gallery, you need to be logged into your EA account for all of this to work), and in that case you definitely then need to restart your game to have the item then show up in your game's library. 😊
Another difference between the gallery locations is the ability to remove a comment you made (if you made an error, etc.). You can only remove your comment in the in-game gallery. I have had many times where I added a comment to a lot in the browser gallery and realized I had a typo... so to remove the comment with the error I have to then open my game and find the comment on the item in the in-game gallery to remove it. Then I just add a corrected comment instead.

@Gednaa I keep a file on my computer with some of the things I may want to reference. If you do this you can copy and paste these hearts into the file and copy/paste them in whatever multiple amount or combo you want into your comments on the gallery items. Also, if someone else has commented with a heart on the item you should be able to highlight their heart and copy/paste it into your comment while typing it. Hope this helps. It's very thoughtful of you to make sure you can add hearts! 🙌

@Gednaa Awww.. Thank you, but this didn't work for me, either of your solutions. So strange. I can only add xxx for kisses, but I do know that people using text to speech will hear Sex, sex sex! lol. True, dat. I used to know a partially sighted person and I never forgot that info! I do like to offer back the love to other simmers! Anyway, thanks for the help! 🙂

It’s the same on PS4, I feel bad not being able to add hearts to comments! We have no way to copy/ paste and for some reason, <3 only works in the description when posting something to gallery but doesn’t work in the comments section. I too would like to show some love on people’s creations!

@VIKING5GRL I'm on a Mac but sounds like I'm having the same issue with you. I tried copy/paste from a text document, tried from other people's comments, but nothing worked. It's sad not to be able to apppreciate the comments and other peoples' creations. I really can't think of a single workaround for this. I'm sure I used to be able to do hearts in the comments, then it suddenly stopped. The comment was there with no hearts. Very odd.

@SheriGR I forgot to say, I used to type <3 and it would work, but suddenly my comments cut off the <3 either within or at the end of a comment. Thanks. Strange!

Here is my workaround for this: I am using the Japanese language setting in TS 4 which includes ♡♤♢♧ and even much more 👍 but I have to admit that this is not suited for everyone 🌎

@Japanic2012 Thanks, but how do you do that on a Mac. Still not used to this symbol thing... I had to goole how to do a hashtag on a Mac! lol

@Gednaa I never owned a Mac in my life, but I guess there should be some method of having the UNICODE table displayed on your screen. You might google it up under "Unicode mac", "Unicode table for Mac" etc. 😎

@Gednaa @Japanic2012 @VIKING5GRL I'm sorry to hear you're having difficulty with the hearts! I'm not entirely sure what's going on, and in case there is a console alternative I expect @PoptartJuniper would know, so I'm tagging her here.
My info: I'm on Mac, my game is fully updated, I have all packs, and I never use Mods/CC.
I just did a few tests to see if any of this will help you to try/know. In all of these cases I began with the text hearts I added into my comment here on the forum. Please note these are text-versions of hearts, and I think they are the only hearts I've found that would work for this, "Thank you all so much! You're awesome! ♡♥♥♥♡" ... this is from my clipboard currently:

First I tested in the EA Gallery in the browser (that's where I almost always request downloads or comment): https://www.ea.com/games/the-sims/the-sims-4/pc/gallery
I frequently get auto-logged-out, but I leave a tab open to it. You do have to make sure you're logged into your account in the browser for this to work:

I then opened my in-game gallery and tried the same thing from my clipboard then from a text editor....

From my clipboard - copied the comment I made in the browser:

Next I copied and pasted from a text editor with the same result:
I'm not sure if any of those steps were different from what you all tried, but I decided to post the information just in case.
