Sims 4 Highschool Years Multi Play Issue

I have the Sims 4 on Windows, everything is up to date, all of my mods should be as well. I tried playing with high school years and I had two sims attending high school but only one got the pop ups for tasks and also it seemed like when one sim interacted with another student the other then couldn't interact with that specific sim? I played my game after the update yesterday and I'm still having issues. Help?
