@vickysmithxx The version of Windows that came with your Sims disc is likely wildly out of date and no longer supported. So the first step is to clear out all Origin-related files. Go through the lists in these guides to clearing Origin's cache and uninstalling "the hard way," and delete anything mentioned.

Run it as an admin, as in, right-click on the installer and select "Run as administrator." Once Origin is installed, run it as an admin too.
Once Origin is working, open your game library, click on Add a Game in the upper right corner, and add your Sims 4 product key. Then you can download the game. While you could install via disc, you'd get a very outdated version, which would then have to be patched, and that process might hang if the version on the disc is several years old. It's simpler to just download the fully patched version from Origin.
