sims CAS and start up menu

when i open the sims 4 it comes up with the normal start up menu, but the "load game" and then "new game" buttons have disappeared and when i press the play button and when i press it it takes me to CAS. and when i exit CAS the whole screen goes blank. before this started happening, it used to play as a normal game with all the buttons but when i tired to enter CAS the whole screen went blank and i couldn't press any buttons. i have tried deleting all my mods and re downloading most of them so I've gone down around 100mods. but it won't fix, so any tips?

    @libbyearny  Please move your entire Mods folder to the desktop, delete localthumbcache.package, and test.  Do not add any mods back until you've tested.

    The New Game and Load Game buttons are only present when you have an existing save, so if you moved your saves elsewhere or otherwise refreshed your user folder, what you're seeing would be normal.
