Sims that hate each other dating?

I just wonder if this is normal in the game or just a strange glitch.  I play multiple families and switch between them so I know how different sims feel about each other but I will see sims on dates with other sims they dispise on community lots.  When I go and play that household though they fight with each other but if I switch households and play a different house and go to a community lot I might see that couple hanging out and flirting with each other like they were friends.   Are they psychos or does the game just throw random sims together?

    FlamingoKicker​ Just because a player visualizes and plays a couple of sims along a certain relationship line, the game doesn't seem to follow the same rules that a player might.  The game does seem to do different things for different situations like the stargazing couples are almost always married couples or at least partners.  NPC couples at restaurants seem to be randomly chosen without any consideration of chemistry.  Same thing happens with some of the NPC vacationers in Selvadorada and Granite Falls that the game puts in the rentals.  Then there are things like enemy sims that continue to try to talk to your sim with friendly and romantic socials while you are using mean socials, trying to get to the point where you can fight them to complete the Devious aspirations and the teen milestone.  So, yeah, there is a bit of weirdness with relationships between NPCs and played sims, both active and inactive.  And that seems to be normal for this game.
