Sims won't rest when they sleep

Since getting the lovestruck expansion, putting my married sims to sleep is a challenge.

First issue, they'll want to cuddle, but if I let them do that then they won't actually gain their energy through the night and I'll get the "have a sim stay awake for 24 hours" achievement.

Second issue, one is already sleeping so I make the other sleep and the first one gets up for no reason. Then it will take a couple attempts to get them back to sleep (without cuddling).

Any suggestions would be appreciated! I figure it's just a weird little bug to be patched in the future..
