Small Business Venue or Custom Venue - Which is Best for my Type of Gameplay?

I am brand new to the Business and Hobbies pack and can’t quite decipher if a build should be a custom venue or a small business (even after watching tutorials and guides).

In my game, I have builds that I want to become (more) functional where everyone participates in activities. These include: bowling alley, stores, cat cafes, camps, movie theaters, etc. I know with both custom venue and small business, you can make schedules, assign what staff and customers do, etc.

Here’s my dilemma: I know for a small business, you have to go into live mode, have a sim purchase the business, and then you can set the schedule stuff. BUT I never intend to play as the business owner sim or running the business; and honestly don’t care who spawns as staff. All I care about is that the venue is staffed and functioning (aka everyone is doing an appropriate activity) when I take my household to visit. So, should I make these venues small business or custom venue?

• Should I only set a build to small business if I plan on playing as the sims who owns the business?
