The error message says that you can not ski on the intermediate slope because you are not level 3 in skiing. Use the easy slope to ski until you become at least level 3.
Did that, but I still can't go down. It's not even an option, now that I reached the required level. There's only the button "change to goofy stance". It's kind of frustrating, because my Sim has the extreme sports enthusiasts aspiration.
- @annAinnoC Late answer but If you have a magic familiar or other type of summoned pet following you, it won't let you ski or snowboard until you dismiss them.
