I thought it was a joke when I first saw it advertised on Origin. Or I thought it was like a separate thing, that it wasn't the GP that would be released this year, and that there would be a different one that didn't jump on the mainstream band wagon. There are literally dozens and dozens of Star Wars games already on all gaming platforms, and this is not what The Sims is all about! It's not supposed to have real life references like a movie franchise! It's supposed to give us our own world to create and do whatever we want. For example, the ROM GP, I'm sure 99.9% of people who bought it made Harry Potter characters, but they didn't release it as Harry Potter themed, it was just magic. This is just so off track of what The Sims has always been in the past. Like if you really want to bring in an outside crossover, make it a Stuff Pack and just have clothes and items. I know people are going to say that it's bringing in another world to go to or whatever, but the point is it's based off of a movie. The Sims doesn't need a Star Wars pack, what it needs is focusing on fixing bugs that have been around since it was created, and maybe listening to consumers about what we actually want. It doesn't even make sense; let's give them an off-the-grid theme first with Island Living, then with Eco Lifestyle, and finally with Nifty Knitting...and then for the GP let's give them Star Wars?? I know, I know "if it's not your thing then don't buy it", but we are entitled to voice our opinion. I think what really bothers me is I feel like EA is taking the game away from what it is intended to be. It's just so disappointing.
- 5 years ago@vadish3825 Can EA just make some free content please and stop selling $40 DLCS that make up the essential pieces of creating your own character in the Sims just for money. This is the worst of EA alongside EA Sports itself!

I don’t expect free content. I’m happy to pay for a product and packs that work. What I DO want is to be able to play a $600 game on the console it was sold for before they create and release new packs that the community doesn’t even want and that add even more bugs to the game.
I honestly just come here now to see if there are any work-arounds to the bugs I experience and to complain about stuff. 😂😭😂😭😂 I wish I could come back and be as excited about The Sims as I have been since I played my first save on the first pc I was able to afford in the early 2000’s (RIP The Sims Franchise 2002-2018).
Also, I don’t want The Sims to be a completely realistic life simulator. I get enough real life as it is (lol). I LOVE the occult characters and the lore! I’m disappointed that instead of delving more into the lore of The Sims franchise, they instead are adding STAR WARS lore (???). Gimme fairies! Gimme an underwater world! Gimme a real justice system so I can find the sim that stole my favorite painting and send them to jail! 😂 But mostly GIMME BUG FIXES INSTEAD OF RELYING ON MODDERS SO CONSOLE PLAYERS CAN PLAY THEIR GAMES, OKAY? Give the testers and creators time to put out a good product and to fix issues that pop up after release. I’m tired of basically paying to be a beta tester, and reporting bugs to just have them ignored so creators can create a new pack for release.SIGH. I heard somewhere that hopes expectations are just how we create our own disappointments, and it feels like that’s what’s happening with this game.
Whatever, I guess. It just makes me sad to see such a great franchise tank so quickly and miserably. MAYBE they’re working behind the scenes to fix all the issues, but at this point I feel like they’ll never fix this game unless we’re willing to pay for updates to make a product work that should have worked to begin with.- Psychotps5 years agoSeasoned Ace@Rae_Regenbogen Wonderfully put. Seconded.
I don't want FREE packs. I want them to actually create packs that not only work properly but also don't break existing packs.
I'm happy to pay for Sims content! I just HATE paying for stuff that doesn't work. It's a waste of my hard-earned money. EA doesn't even seem to care. They release completely broken and useless content and don't even bother patching it. Instead, they put their talents to use by releasing "Named Cowplants" in order to get free YouTuber advertising.
EA. Your game is BROKEN. Fix it! Before you lose what few fans The Sims has left.
