sulani volcanic bbq searer

I hope this is the right place to ask this simple question. I'm using the sulani volcanic bbq searer my question is is it possible to cook anything better than normal quality dishes? My character is lvl 10 cook and lvl 5 or 6 gourmet. The best I have cooked is normal if I remain there for the entire 2 hrs to cook. If she leaves the recipe will always be poor. Is this as good as it gets?
