I believe I'm having this problem also. If the tenants are paying rent, there's no notification of it, no mail, no interaction with the tenants, etc.
@nualla_6109 EA if you are listening, please add the option to turn on and turn off animal aging, I currently experience animal deaths in The Sims 4 since cottage living update like animal aging has been disabled and there’s no feature whatsoever.
