The grim reaper keeps showing up to kill all of my farm animals

Hi there,

I'm using a Microsoft Surface computer and playing Sims 4. The grim reaper keeps showing up to kill all of my farm animals. 

I have used the game repair feature, turned off online social feature, turned off mods, restarted the game over and over, ensured no aging settings were on, shift + C destroy object, kill and make grim reaper family but no matter what I do, a new reaper keeps showing up to kill my farm animals. I have a sheep, cow and chickens. I never had this problem in cottage living. I recently bought Horse Ranch (specifically for the animals) and downloaded a house from the gallery which my family is living in. I don't know what to do.

The only temporary solution I found was to debug him by shift + C, which caused him to yawn and then leave (temporarily), or to make him a family member and then shift + C > Destroy object which causes his profile pic to gray out and for him to be docile, but even then a new one that wants to reap pops up in the game shortly after. That and one time I was able to call my sheep/goat away from him to save it and that worked (it was on the lot when I downloaded the game from the gallery - wonder if they are bugged? I have read others with same problem but they just think it's farm animals in general. 

When I try to plead, the option is grayed out when both of my Sims use it and he says “One does not plead with Death before the reaping". 

Lastly, I used the death.toggle false cheat to try and turn him off and restarted but that didn't work at all.
