I'm a bit iffy so far. About the only thing that really interests me from what I can see from the pack is the aquarium table. I'm not huge on dressing up pets, but that likely is just due to real life - unless it is a hairless or has very short fur, it doesn't need to be wearing clothes. Yeah, I get this is a game, so go at it if you want to play dress up with your virtual pet... I like animals in general, but am most in love with cats. Minus the add-on clothes and some furniture decor that may help with the house... I definitely see this more as a pack targeted for children Sims with most of the new furniture available and as the title indicates, "My First Pet Stuff".
I see the merits, though. Those who like to accessorize their Sims in CAS, those who did want smaller pet availability and creating things more suitable for kids who are indeed just getting their first pets now have more things to express their love for animals. Kudos to that.
While I cannot see most of the pack containing anything that would be useful to the type of Sims I've made, I do think it could have been a bit more or had been made into a bigger pack or separate packs. Unless that table isn't really an aquarium, but a terrarium instead... I think if you were going to go with more pet options, that should have been separate - maybe even an expansion.
The four options for the rodent-based pets is great. The fact that I saw a turtle rug... I think there should have been a "Small Pets" pack. It could have been dedicated to the rodents, the birds, the reptiles and the insects. It could have had all the accessories for the pets that fit in those niches. The rodents seem well taken care of, birds could have had option cages or perches/rests, reptiles and insects could have had nice terrarium options. Then of course extra stuff to decorate their little homes, like toys, scenery to decorate terrariums and such. Then of course for the human aspect things that are themed towards said pets: Furniture, clothes, art and stuffed animals that represent them, calendars that feature each type, water dispenser options and little food bowls to decide on and customize. Maybe even the small pets could have little clothes if one wanted to go that far.
Then for a stuff pack, that would be where all the new stuff for the cats and dogs would enter. The more pet bed options, the cat condos, all the clothes that seem to make them match their owners or costumes to make them look sillier(cuter?) than before, the cat and dog themed furniture, the aquarium table... A dog house perhaps could have been added? A pet sitter service for when your Sims go on vacation? Maybe even give the cats and dogs rockets they can go on an adventure on. The rodents are able to!
All in all, the pack strikes me as okay. It seems a bit jumbled to me, though. Until I'm able to see all that really does come in the pack and if said stuff has enough items to make it seem worth it... I'm still a bit on the fence here.
@Player_jp5s5eav, what you can do if you are unsure is to wait until it is released. The Sim Gurus might have another Developers Livestream like they did for Jungle Adventure, Cats & Dogs, (and I think they had one for Laundry Day). But even if they don't have one for this Stuff Pack, you can at least find more information on it when it is released.
When I couldn't afford more than a few Stuff Packs at a time (I was waaaay behind on getting them for the longest time), what I would do is to start my game and click on the SP icons for the SPs I didn't have, and it would show me all the clothing, hairstyles on one tab, and furniture and Build Mode items on another tab. This really helped me decide which Stuff Packs to get first! ❤️ It won't show every color or pattern for a given clothing or furniture item, but at least you can get an idea of what you are getting before you buy it! 😉 (You can also purchase the packs by clicking on these icons, but if you aren't ready to buy a pack, you can still exit out of it! 🙂 ) This might be the best way to see if you want the pack or not.
Yes, it might seem "Silly" to dress like your dog or cat, but have you seen how silly people get in real life when it comes to their pets?!? 😃:eahigh_file: I'm guilty of being silly about my Pugs! Anytime I give a birthday card or other gift, I always "sign" my dogs' names on it next to mine and my husband's! 😳 🥳
I agree that the items do seem more geared to young children, but I think EA was very smart to give us more pet items as well as more items that kids and toddlers can use to decorate their rooms since most packs don't have a lot of items for toddlers and children. 😇

PugLove888,
Yeah, my post was indicating that. I am waiting it out until the pack actually comes out and I can see what all it has to offer before I make a full assessment, hence why I said I am still "on the fence" about it. I also know IRL there are tons of people who love to dress up their pets or just play virtual dress-up, so I did note that while that isn't for me, I can definitely see it appealing to many Simmers. Therefore it is good in general (especially since you are working with virtual pets in this, not RL ones) and a nice idea for those who will love to match their pets with their Sims or just go crazy in dress up fun.
Yeah, I totally get the whole signing your animal's name on cards. We get a "from the pet" card specifically for my Dad's black lab for special occasions be it birthday or Father's Day and sign his name on it. :D- PugLove8888 years agoHero (Retired)
@Player_jp5s5eav, yes, I think in your case it is wise to wait and see. 🙂 I remember with The Sims 3 I had a dilemma of this kind as well -- I had gotten every EP and SP for TS3 and then it was announced that a Katy Perry themed SP was coming out. I can't stand Katy Perry 🤒 (I only like one song of hers, and its not like I like it a lot 😕 ) . However, I had gotten every pack for all the versions of the Sims prior to that. So, I waited to see what the pack included. Upon seeing all the hair choices and some of the cute furniture, I decided to get the SP. I was glad I did since I used those items a lot! 😳 It was a pleasant surprise for me! 🤨🥳 But if I hadn't liked any of the actual items, it probably would have been the only pack from the Sims that I never got.
In real life I don't mind dressing up pets as long as they don't mind it! Some pets enjoy it! 😃 My elderly Pug didn't mind it (we had one Halloween costume for him and a sweater I made him), but he got to big for his costume so we didn't put him in it anymore. I think he just liked the attention from the costume and the warmth from the sweater. He loved blankets, so the sweater was like a blanket to him 😇 My one year old Pug won't stand for wearing clothes, so unless she mellows out, we probably will never dress her up. 😃 I'm certainly not going to force her! But this makes me happy that I will have more items to dress up my Sims' pets because they certainly don't mind! 😉
That is sweet that y'all get your Dad a "from the pet" card for his Lab to "give" him! ❤️ I bet your Dad really likes that! (I love Labs by the way! ❤️ My husband's family had a black Lab that lived 19 years! 😮🤨🥳😇 ) Also, when my Mom and Dad give me a card, they have learned that if they don't include their dog's name on it, I get sad! 😳 😃
Since I have never regretted buying a EP, GP, or SP for any version of The Sims, I know I will like this SP! Laundry was certainly not my first choice for an SP, but I really like the pack a lot! 🙂 But even if I didn't buy (and like) all the packs for The Sims, I know that this would be an excellent pack for me, since I love animals and love playing Sim families with children! But I can see that for some people who only like playing singles, roommates, or young couples that party or go out for a wild night on the town, this wouldn't probably be their favorite pack. 😉
Happy Simming! 🥳
