The Sims AHQ October Highlights and Recap!

Sul sul and Happy November everyone!

@EA_Cade here hoping everyone had a happy, spooky Halloween heavy on fun and light on candy corn and circus peanuts. October just f l e w  past and the end of the year is fast approaching, which will have most of us in the United States preparing for packed airports, freeways, and arteries as we trek off to visit family and gorge ourselves on turkey and sweet potato pie. But before we get to Thanksgiving, lets recap what we accomplished together in October, shall we? 

This month's news and announcements:

  • On the 30th, the official Discord server for The Sims went live! You can join the server here to get the latest Sims news, connect with other Simmers, and participate in different challenges and giveaways. 

Patches and updates:

  • Earlier this week on the 31st, the newest patch was released which included a number of bug fixes, improvements to The Gallery's text moderation, and a brand new feature - Discovery Quests! Be sure to read up on the patch notes here for all the details. 

Notable threads:

  • To celebrate the announcement of the next pack, For Rent, let's try a new gameplay challenge! The Landgraab Landlord Challenge created by @Lolz4x4 is a fun mixture of both Live and Build Mode gameplay, where you'll be moving into your first rented property and working with your landlord to clean and fix up your new home! You'll be working with a limited budget and a temperamental landlord who may or may not approve of any changes you want to make. If you think you're up for the challenge, be sure to check this thread out! 
  • Werewolves aren't typically considered sweet and cuddly, but @GiardiniDiMarzo has recently discovered that toddlers may disagree - did you know toddlers will receive a playful moodlet and very cute Hug the Soft Doggy interaction when near a rampaging werewolf? Cuddling a werewolf may not pacify their rampage, but it will absolutely melt your heart 🥰 So have you come across any unexpected and adorable interactions between Sims? Share with us all the delightfully cute and precious interactions you've discovered! 
  • This month we celebrated Halloween with The Sims by sharing different ways we'll be enjoying the holiday with our Sims and showing off some spooky screenshots! So tell us all about how you celebrated - did you try a creepy new gameplay challenge, did you build a haunted house, or dress your Sims up for some trick-or-treating? Be sure to show off your scariest Sims, your ghouls and ghosts, and all your devilish décor!

Grim wins this one at 46%, and while I agree he's a perfectly viable option (and my personal runner-up) I think I'll demand a recount - Justice for Bonehilda! 

What is your favorite festival?

Spice Festival won at 43% - honestly how could you not love an entire festival dedicated to binging on delicious foods?
