The sims sickness marks are causing distress (for not just me)

My first time seeing it was extremely uncomfortable, it felt like I was staring at something like holes. For background, I have a fear of them. (Yes I'm aware marks and holes are different, this is simply a comparison of reaction which some others with the same fear share as well). My skin started to feel hot and I was itching terribly due to the way I was mentally reacting to the visual. I searched up ways to get rid of this only to find out there was no feature to remove the red sickness marks. However I found a skin overlay which saved me by peterskywalker. And in my research for answers I found I am not the only one experiencing this as the overlay was recommended by someone feeling the same thing.

Can a feature please be added for it to be optional to see that?

I genuinely love playing this game, but the discomfort is a lot and I want to continue having a happy gameplay experience like others as well. An overlay mod glitch or losing files would be an issue. In addition the poison ivy as well. The poison ivy overlay is also not compatible with other skin overlay mods.

An optional visual settings feature for illness skin reactions would be a lifesaver.

Comment by @PrissyRikki on EA page: "@queenlouise88I'm having the same problem i found a skin overlay mod on mod the sims but the modder (peterskywalker!)hasn't updated it in awhile but it's my last hope honestly i might have to take get to work out of my game because it is very triggering. ( i honestly don't even know if that will make it go away) it was the strips for me it was so sudden and it just is burned in my brain of him with the tiger strips and his girlfriend with the--- yeah-- But I'm in the same situation as you with the phobia."

@Aang14 , some EA employees do read these pages, so hopefully they can pass this on!  🤞

In the meantime, since I don't use Mods, I asked some Sims players who do, and they said that it is possible MCCC might be able to help with this, though they weren't sure. There is an option in MCCC Cheats>Cheat Sim Info for Mood/Buff control. And then perhaps you can find the sickness buff and remove it.  But we aren't sure if this will work the way you want.  Also, be careful with this since this Mod Cheat covers a lot of buffs, some of which you might not want to get rid of! 🤨

The only other Mod that was suggested is the one you already mentioned that hasn't been updated in a year! 😓  Perhaps another user here knows of an updated Mod that will work! 🤞🤔

Hopefully the ability to turn off the visual effects of illness will be something they give to the game, because even if there is a Mod that will do it, I'm sure quite a few people who are on consoles have the same problem you have, and they can't use Mods! 😭
