Trashley’s boxes and collections

I’m currently on my Super Sim save, where I’m also working on finding all of the household collections. I recently got the Business and Hobbies pack, and decided I wanted to give the new collections a go. I purchased a whole bunch of boxes from Trashley Reelperson, and noticed as I was opening them that I was finding a lot of collectables from other collections as well, such as marbles and feathers, which I haven’t done yet. However, when I go into my Household Collections, those items still aren't marked as found. I’ve tried taking them out of my sims inventory and putting them back in, and many other ways to get them to register as found, but it seems as they’re not even registering as belonging to my sim that opened the boxes. Is there a way to get them to register as being found by her?

  • Upon more trial and error, I’ve found that placing the items on the ground, going to build/buy mode and placing them into the household inventory, then placing them back on the ground and then back into the sim’s inventory registers them as being found. It would be much simpler if they just registered when actually found, though.

I was able to sell them. But it is the same thing with not showing up in collections.

I am also doing a super collection save!!!!! I finally met Trashley for the first time last night (irl) and bought like 50+ boxes. After opening all the boxes I was pleased to get 12/16 of the Trashley paintings (which is a great head start). It wasn’t until the next day (in game) that I realized there were some items I acquired during that mass opening that hadn’t previously been in my inventory (angler fish, sword fish, a feather, a snow globe). Pulling the items from my inventory, placing them on the ground, and then putting them back in the sims inventory did nothing to add them to my overall collection count. The feather, for example, you can hang on a wall but then when you pull it back into your inventory it says “This item does not belong to your sim.” but it clearly does because I pulled it from my sims inventory…..

This bug definitely peeves me a lot, and I know that lilsimsie has been doing the super collection save as well so I’m sure a bunch of other people are going to be inspired to give it a shot but if one of the features impacts it even though it’s supposed to benefit the player/save. It’s sad that 7 months later this is still an issue but hopefully it can get sorted out soon!
