Unable to move away from active sim/loading screen(s) stall

Product: The Sims 4
Platform:PC
Which language are you playing the game in? English
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
What is your current game version number? 1.108.329.1020 DX9
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? Get to Work, Cats and Dogs, Seasons, Get Famous, High school years, Tiny living, Eco lifestyle, For Rent, Snowy Escape, Spa Day, Dine out, Realm of Magic, Island living, Growing together, Perfect patio set, modern lux kit, cozy bistro, holiday celebration pack, dream home decorator kit, up all night, life of the party, and Lovestruck
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Resuming saved game
What happens when the bug occurs? Queue interaction, try to select another sim, nothing happens, active sim interaction is playing but can only click on pet no other playable sims. Can save game but when moving to manage worlds, or main menu, stuck on loading screen and have to force quit game.
What do you expect to see? Actually getting to play the game... Loading screens not stalling So many bugs with the recent updates
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Not now. I've removed them.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Yes
Please describe the patch or change you made. Latest update/patch Just had another update this morning and it was not doing this prior or at least not every time I tried to play. Now can't even play the game.

Thing I have tried: 

Repairing game several times

Clearing cache and EA App cache

Restarting game

gameplay issue

    hey! had the same issue, browsed the forums and ended up contacting ea myself. first try this with the mods tho:

    1. delete localthumbscache

    2. move mods folder to desktop

    3. delete everything in it

    4. repair game (in ea app next to play game under manage)

    5. open and see if new mods folder was created, if not make one yourself or move old one back (made a new one)

    6. see if it worked, if not try ea help steps below

    the reply from ea help:

    1. Delete the localthumbscache.package file in this directory.
    2. Go inside the cache folder and delete all files that end in .cache, but do not delete the actual directory (folder)
    The .jpg files as well as the .dat that you find in the cache folder are safe to delete. These come from viewing households/lots from the gallery. If you play with the Online Access Feature turned off, or play offline, you may not have anything in this folder.
    3. Go back, then to the cachestr folder. Delete all files here, but again do not delete the actual directory.
    * It's okay to delete the spotlight.package file.
    4. The onlinethumbnailcache folder is safe to delete IF it is present.
     
     
    extra: always update your cc and mods after an update. for that you have to download all of it again (new versions from the creators, who should update it)
    extra 2.0: just dont have mods or cc because I just had the scare of my life trying to fix this (400 hrs play time almost thrown out the window help)

    @43587438 Thank you for the tips! The issue seemed to have resolved, until it just happened again today without mods. So will try these. I only have two mods but removed them when all the glitches started until they could all be updated etc.

    @cd9ce573de3f0413 just had the same issue again. Feel like this may actually have to do with the new update. Hopefully it will resolve itself soon because I'm at a loss for what to do
