Unable to plant pumpkins and watermelons

Could you please provide the following information

• Are you using mods/cc in your game ? Please remove them and test without them if you do.
• What exactly happens when you try to plant them ? 
• Where are you trying to plant them ? 

Nope no mods, not worth having to update them.

I drag them to the screen and they dont sit on top of the soil or planter. I click them and the option to plant doesn't appear. The sim is a level 10 gardener. 

You can't plant does in planters. You need to use the garden patches that came with cottage living. That's the only place you can plant them.

Did you try that ?
