Updates take up too much space

I am currently struggling with the amount of updates on the game and am hoping to hear what others think, and what EA can do to solve this.

I am constantly updating the game as when asked and each time this takes up more and more storage on my mac. My mac is almost full and I have had to delete everything else off of it to keep updating the Sims 4. Eventually my disk space will be full with all the updates. At this point the game is then not playable because I need to update but do not have any space to do so.

I have paid a lot of money on expansion packs etc. and all of this will eventually be redundant as I will not be able to load the game. This is not fair, and by this point EA will have taken my money and not let me play the game. I have paid to play it and so therefore should be able to play without updates.

I want this resolving so players like myself who have filled all of their space can continue to enjoy the game they have paid so much money for.

Thoughts?

  • Yes, I have a thought: why did you continue to purchase EPs…? It very clearly states how much disc space is required for installation, how is it EA's fault if you don't check the system requirements before purchase…? I am afraid that EA cannot be held responsible for your stupidity.

I'm sure you've got plenty of other stuff on your hard drive besides TS4, my recommendation would be to purchase an external drive (you should have one as a matter of course, as everyone should be doing regular time machine backups)

So now you have 3 choices:

    1. Decide what EPs you don't really want and delete them to free up space

    2. Delete other stuff from your hard drive to achieve the same result

    3. Purchase an external drive and put everything you don't need on your internal drive onto that.

@Belladonna74 This isn’t fair. I am having the same issues my game was playable with all the expansions until they did this last update. Now they are needing more space than my computer has to update.
