Wedding stories is like herding cats

Ok, so now the cake is there for the so called big day but, what about the wedding party nonsense? Trying to get everyone down the Isle and in position for the ceremony is like herding cats! They're all over the place and seem to want to do everything but what they're supposed to do for the wedding.

I feel this dlc was a BIG waste of money and it's way over hyped for the bugs that are still in it!

I see no point in filling the sim of honor, the ring bearer, the flower pal, or the officiates position because they don't do what they're supposed to do! What a piece of crap!

  • It's fully update! Had couple just get married yesterday. Still a pain to get them where they are supposed to be.

    Weddings works a lot better if you play with autonomy off and form groups. I know this is awful a lot of micromanagements, which a lot of players don’t like but I personally love it.

    I still haven't bought My Wedding Stories--still waiting for the bugs to shake out--but I play with autonomy ON and just add everyone to a group and click a chair and say "Sit here together," then tell the marrying Sim to get married and everyone else stays in their chair. Works like a charm!

    @Busmover50Thanks for the heads up!  I'm still debating whether or not to get MWS.

    @daikoyuI hardly ever turn autonomy on.  It just gets so frustrating since full autonomy means "I think I'll dance for an hour, then get a glass of water, immediately followed by some TV." instead of "I should work on homework / career task."  lol

    @xochiquetzl_xkvnI was just thinking that it sounds like the new weddings are a lot like the old weddings in this regard.  What you suggested is what I do as well except without autonomy.  I still sometimes get unplayed sims wandering off for some reason or another. :-/

    @JonaO703

    I know lots of people play without autonomy, and you're absolutely right that autonomy sometimes means "I know you told me to paint but I think I'm going to go use the cat wand and then shoot hoops instead!" but some of the things they do autonomously are SO CUTE. My married and dating Sims do a lot of autonomous hugging and kissing and flirting. My Sim parents autonomously use flash cards with toddlers and help children and teens with homework. My Sim toddlers autonomously hug each other.  My Sim kids chat and play together and autonomously do their extra credit. Etc. <3

    I'm keeping an eye on the wedding pack. I want it, and it sounds like the recent patch helped a lot, but I'm still on the fence...

  • I know what you mean about the sim wandering off to do stuff other than what you told them to do. Or if auto is off then they stand around and pee themselves or something else stupid like that.

    I've seen my Sims do those sweet things too. But then I've seen them all go in the house to do whatever and leave the toddler out on the street.
