Hi @william3805 - Bring up the cheat console by pressing Control + Shift + C, type "testingcheats on" (without the quotes) For simoleans, you can use "kaching" for $1,000 or "motherlode" for $50,000

You don't need to put in the testingcheats for "Kaching" or "Motherlode", you can get §1000 or §50,000 quite easily after bringing up the console, make sure you are on a lot first otherwise it won't work.
When building houses like the most recent "Small 4 floor house" and before that with the "Manning-Keating Manor", i only used Motherlode to do it, altogether coming past §500,000 and §800,000 quite easily. If nothing else, a few Motherlodes can turn your dingy little Crick Cabana into something livable pretty quickly. :P
"testingcheats" are used for your sims and to adjust other things, including adjusting ingame items to make them smaller like cupboards for the kitchen. potentially you can have a chiild superstar with all the aspirations, skills and what not completed, you can give reward points to never sleep, never need to take a bath and many other things.
Blackjack provides a good link with more correct cheat codes than the wiki does, for example the wiki inaccurately says careers.promote "athlete" instead of "athletic", the latter is the correct word, so long as you are in that job profession, you can promote yourself as many times as you want and get crazy §§§ as well. It goes for any other profession.
Finally when you do upgrade the likes of charisma after "stats.set_skill_level" make sure you put in the right code otherwise it won't work, follow the cheats as specific as you can. The wiki link as well if you wish to go through it: https://sims.fandom.com/wiki/The_Sims_4/cheats
