I was playing a Normal lifestate game before the new update, and the calendar was working what appeared to be as it should (Sims would have 2 weeks of school before Prom, and there did not seem to be a repeat week) Not much else to it, other than I'm playing with an 8 teen household, but that should not be the issue breaking the game, or at least I'd expect that not to be it. As for my mods, I only have a CAS background, one CC which is a default eye, more CAS columns which was updated for High School Years and works, and More Icons for making clubs. I've tried without mods and the issue is still there. No amount of changing the lifestate or weather fixes the issue.

@EA_Cade But this is breaking Long gameplay. My Teen sims can only go to school for 4 weeks. The rest of the calendar is completely empty, and they're no longer going to school. Why are teens called teens when you make them adults by default?

@taffster74 But that doesn't make sense. Prom is only once a year, and for older students (which of course doesn't work in EA because age doesn't actually exist, so that's understandable). And an end of the year dance would be end of the year, not weekly. If the football is meant to be different, that would make more sense for it being weekly, but it's not. It's just a festival every week, with nothing to do in it. if it was like actual afterschool club, it would have more options that change each week, which I would gladly accept for that.Considering that Long lifespan teens cannot go to school after 4 weeks, this completely breaks the game for anyone playing the Long lifespan. Even with Prom being weekly, which still makes no sense, at least allowing Prom for EVERY week would fix the issue. Since Teens cannot get full time jobs, go to college, or have/adopt children, there is nothing left for them for half of their lifespan. It seems that the calendar or school year should be something that the player manages based on the lifespan they choose. My calendar seems to be broken anyway. It had the same issue after wedding pack. Maybe it’s mods. I’ll check later. Anyway, I should be able to set prom. Not everyone plays in normal lifespan. I play with aging off. I play by rotation why I have aging off. I just find the game to be glitchy and since til today sims not following instructions is still a persistent problem I don’t get much done in any age span. I turn it off, play each household then turn it back on. The game deciding on major life events sucks because it not only damages my style of play it robs me of gameplay. This is not a complicated issue. Just allow players to schedule prom like you do with weddings or any other event. That way I can actually enjoy this pack and not rush to accomplish what’s not doable since my sims half the time don’t listen to instructions. This is frustrating, shortsighted and disappointing.

@siirysiir Your right It is huge but haven't seen or heard much on the topic. My family's have very long lifespans as I switch between long lifespan and aging off completely. If I keep High School Years in my game after 4 weeks of school my teenagers will then have a long time without school before aging up. For story purposes I might have had a teen start University early (great feature to implement with university one positive) but that wouldn't be every household. I switched to the household of the twins older brother as someone commented the HS events wouldn't show on households without teens, so then I'd be able to edit holidays on the weekend again. I'm not sure if it's because their related but all the HS events still remained on the calendar. My final straw was sitting an exam on a Friday and a bug caused all Sims but my Twins to stand by their desks and not take the exam. Kind of broke the immersion haha. I've disabled the pack through Origin now and will hope the Sims team will either rework the settings for long and limitless lifespans and undo the calendar restrictions. As this is a feature not a bug however I'm not holding my breath. Modders may also find a way to fix this but that doesn't help the console players of the community. Without the pack enabled my calendar works fine and so am happy but equally sad to lose the build/buy, CAS items and to have essentially spent money on an expansion pack that isn't flexible and breaks how I play my game. I don't play many other games but think I need a break from The Sims 4. I know it's 'just a game' but am genuinely disheartened, pathetic I know but I was so so excited for this pack. More than I'd be for a long time.

@NyxValkoinenexactly, before I realised how useful that calendar was I never touched the 'events' at all. My Sim would always get the sad buff from a forgotten birthday. I've been using the Calendar religiously for a while now. Certain events like Love Day and Spooky day I always scheduled on a Saturday so I had time to actively play my own scenarios on those days without school or work being an issue. I was so excited for high school years, I stopped playing my save two weeks before release as it had reached the end off the summer holidays for my two teenage Twins and wanted to start a realistic school year. ☹️ You can imagine my disappointment. It's really bad game design and it genuinely feels like pack cross compatibility hasn't even been considered. I wanted to play from end of summer to end of summer ending with prom. I had to download a mod so I could have normal weddings again after My Wedding stories removes the base game event if you have it installed. Now I'll have to wait for a mod to disable high school events. I'm fed up of buying packs for features that look amazing only to have to hunt down a way of disabling them in game. Either due to bugs or in this case a bad judgement call on the game designers part. PS well done for quitting smoking. Wish me luck on quitting buying game breaking content. Lol

But why is it happening in Long lifestates? I can only go to school for 4 weeks, and the rest of the calendar is completely empty. There's no more Football, Exams, or Prom to go to at all.

@NyxValkoinen I think I may have an answer. As this is an american-based game, the prom feature appears to combine both the "prom" concept and the end of year dance concept into the one feature. It's like with the football feature - except there, every week is a different aspect (1 week - throwing practice, next week, speed trials, etc). Hope this answers your questions.

@NyxValkoinen I think when playing with long lifespan, a week is roughly equivalent to one year - roughly. So it does make sense to have prom every week. However, this does not carry over to the football event - but that maybe because of schedule crowding - possibly. As to the extra two weeks? Well, by the American schooling system, a person is still in middle school when they begin their teens and High school only covers ages 15-18 unlike the rest of the world where high school is ages 13-18. Why that wasn't factored into the pack - who knows. It may be part of a plan for a future pack exploring all school years? Anything is possible with the sims.
