Why is washing your hands better than taking a bath?
A cheap bathtub will raise your hygiene need extremely slowly which takes a really really long time, while spam washing your hands to full bar only takes a few seconds lol.

@JnhoKaddia yes it all falls under the hygiene category so if your Sim washes their hands 4-5 times depending on how stinky they are it can fill their hygiene needs.
It's actually really handy that it works that way if you have a lot of camping and foraging Sims like I do. If my Sims pitch a tent in a park where there is an open bathroom (as opposed to the public bathroom stall that just has the "use bathroom" command) they can fill their hygiene meter just by washing their hands a few times if they are not carrying a portable shower stall. But it's the most helpful for me in Evergreen Harbour when dumpster diving. They can get rid of that green cloud around them and throw themselves back into a dumpster to keep on digging for treasures.
So I'm glad it works this way and my Sims may get tired of me throwing them into dumpsters to collect things for me but they can't say I don't give them the occasional bathroom break to clean up. 🤢
