Zoom/Tilt???

So I literally downloaded the game yesterday, and I have yet to figure out how to zoom in and out and move the camera up and down, like tilting. Is this not a thing in 4 or am I just stupid?

  • Hi @LoveKhaoticKris I guess you are referring to the Sims 3 camera functions in comparison to the Sims 4? It is selectable here (and functions differently in build mode as well..) the sims 3 camera is highlighted in green under the + for zoom.. Let me know how you go.

You answered one of his questions, but now how do you tilt the camera? In the Sims 3 version there was a + and - you could use.

  • @LoveKhaoticKris When I am trying to get the screenshots of a build in live mode fighting with the camera just about drives me to drink. I'm still working on learning to get it to do what I want in those situations.  I have found a few helpful things to know:

    • Sims 4's camera is super annoying.
    • If you activate the 'Sims 3' camera in options, you can use 'command + up or down arrow' to tilt the camera (I usually switch back to Sims 4 camera then since I'm used to it and the tilt-ability stays until I enter build mode again or leave the household, if memory serves. As I said, I'm still experimenting...) May or may not need the Sims 3 camera in place for the next 2 things:
      • In build mode "T" moves to top view.
      • 'Ctrl/Command + left mouse' to move around more freely.

Sorry I'm not more definitive on these items. Maybe others can clarify further for both of us! Good luck and enjoy! Sims 4 is a lot of fun and offers so much, especially with some of the expansions! 🙂
