4 Years...

It took 4 years for the developers to have Sims use one counter to cook. Bare in mind some of these Sim Gurus say they actually play the game. 4 Years for the developers to give us a Coworkers tab. Bare in mind City Living came with Tasks that required you to interact with your coworkers. 4 years to register yourself as self employed. Get To Work patch would have been the perfect time no? 4 years of object babies. 4 years without bunk-beds (Kids Room Stuff? Parenthood? No?), lounge chairs or spiral stairs. 4 years and in-lawes aren't registered in the game. 4 years & Sims still play musical chairs during conversations. 4 years & Sims still prefer to not sit at dinning tables or islands, but get near to other Sims/Cats/Dogs. 4 years & Sims still talk with their backs to one another. 4 years no shower Woohoo. 4 years no attraction system. 4 years no body hair. 4 years no colour wheel. The fact that this kinda feature is present in Cats & Dogs is a bit of a piss take in my opinion. 4 years & no slow dance interaction. 4 years & no Story Progression.

I've mentioned only minor issues in this post I have with this game. I look at TS2 & all it accomplished in 4 years & it eclipses TS4, easily. Quality & quantity for your money. Not like the DLC we get offered theses days. Packed with recoloured meshes & same animations with different names. (E.g. romantic interactions for Unflirty Sims) Watch the City Living trailer & how the Spice Challenge is portrayed, lies.
Then you've got the bugs. Bugs that developers say have been addressed and haven't. I still get Vampires breaking into community lots. Them free skintones still have an infection on them. My Sims still don't use the nearest sink to wash their dishes. I'm tired.

4 years and this game is still playing catch up to the previous titles & I don't see it ever doing it. This is easily my least favourite Sims title when compared with TS1, TS2 & TS3.

Perchance the folks producing this pap are so obsessed with the target age they forgot that the planet contains multitudes of people older than that who play this excuse of a game? Off to see how my 61 Buick is doing in the 'purple pond'. Much more fun.

Or better yet, stop making it T for teen.
  • I hear you, since their idea of T seems to be a lot lower down the scale (T for twelve?) that it was for TS2. I can't escape the nagging feeling that the cuts in budget and staff, the steady decline in packs, and the waning relevance to reality (a Yeti for Christmas season? Really? What does that have to do with anybody's winter festival?) = Sims being prepared for being dropped.
