Yes, 90 X 90 lots are huge and personally I would not put an house on an lot that size, but it still can be used to put commercial places and etc. How well a game will navigate an lot that size may depend on the rigs specs and EA/Maxis should not rule out making lots that size, just make it optional and not because one group can't use it like the decision that was made for some features that was excluded for Sims 4 in general.
