The Mountain Climb Excursion has those parts different. Sometimes there's a tent, sometimes there's a bonfire.
Today I stumbled upon a broken trail map marker. I was surprised that these can be broken. So I had a sim repair it (though I didn't have to).
Because of this I make sure my sims have a tent in their inventory and a campfire cause those are not guranteed to be there.
