We know what the tree is, we know the typical colors used for Winter Holiday Celebrations (red/green), the team can rename it all they like, but they still exist, and were given to us for free in a patch many years ago. Just the same as these hijabs were recently given to us in a free patch.

If they bother you so much, then. Oh, I don't know. Don't use them. They are not tagged for random sims, so no worries about a misc. townie scaring you.

actually they are tagged for random sims since others simmers who don't want the item-had sims show up with the hijab on.


I do have a story told to me by my parents one of their professors at university was an archaeologist in his main time. He was in Athens once with his wife and one Sunday he went to church and they asked why his wife wasn't with him. He said she still believed in the "old" gods and they're fine with that explanation.



Technically our months are from Romans both from Myths and also from Julius Caesar and his heir Augustus, and 5 out of the 7 days come from Norse myths (the 6 day also comes from Romans) and our planets' and their moons' names also come from the Romans. So why are we arguing over one minor problem about headgear that some women choose to wear and some don't.. when we are surround every day with other myths, including the modern myths of Urban Legends?



For the last time how many times Do I have to explain *I* will be using the hijab..for pence purposes twice in my game for story-telling reasons. They should have just called it a "headscarf" avoiding the "M" word. They could have gone an "Arab route" and included fez, those headgear Saudi Arab's royalty wear, and also longer robes like Arabs wear.

I thought one of the gurus said they were specifically NOT tagged for random?

Regardless, this is a quick fix for anyone who knows how to use S4S.

That's true. They do cover, but nuns are very religious. The people who cover their heads with hijabs or hijab-like garments aren't always that religious. It's a lot more secular than being a nun. It's more like your second example of cross-shaped jewelry. The cross is a normal shape for jewelry in Western culture. Sometimes, it's deeply religious. Sometimes, it's not at all. It depends on the person wearing it. Overall, it's a common item and shouldn't be banned because it has religious roots. Same with the head scarves.

Are you only upset about the term they used to announce the item, or are you upset about the item itself?

If you are upset about the terms/wording they used - humans can make mistakes, and not everything gets sent around to 12 different people for proofing and checking to see if anyone might get offended before posting. It happened, but you need to move on.

If you are upset about the free CAS item, then don't use it. It's very easy to skip over the hat section entirely. If you REALLY don't like it, download S4S, and use it to remove it from your game. I'm sure someone on those forums could help you figure it out. Otherwise, ignore the free item. It's really very simple.

It's really no different than seeing a man who just got a fresh cut covering his hair with a durag. It might not be for religious reasons, but his hair is still covered for his own purposes, of his own volition.

I never seen nuns anywhere outside of Catholic churches or Catholic countries/provinces. I highly doubt they wear the wimple and robes out in public.. so I wouldn't even know if they are nuns..unless they would told me. Besides they mostly only wear the wimple/habit when they're doing prayer duties or in some cases healing people. Not out in public like the grocery store. Much like Islamic culture some orders of nuns wear the habit/wimple and some don't.

The thing is though that TS4 is a game that's played in places like that. Around where I live, I see nuns on almost a daily basis, just going about their daily lives, their heads covered. Not always in the robes, no, but there are places where I've seen those too. They're also teachers in some schools so they're in public like everyone else.

And yes, some orders demand the wimple, others don't. They also come in a variety of types.

But my point is: it really depends on the place you live in what kind of clothing you see around.

@thecatsred I accept your apology I'm fine with the Muslim content..I know people who are Muslims- I like the fact that EA is trying to be more cultural diverse. But if they're going to do it this way maybe they should label some of the products in the fridge "Pork-free" like we have "Vegetarian only" so we know which food for our Muslim sims to avoid (the idea could also apply for a different group as well)?


It just seems weird, we as a society are arguing over some minor part of cultural around Islam and yet most days and months staring us in the face are also religious related (pagan, really), even planets' and their moon's names are from pagan stories. Even some of our words come from Pagan myths like the word "Clue" is from clew, which is from Theseus and the Minotaur story which happens to involve a labyrinth. Both the Western Zodiac is from the Greek/Roman myths (some sources say Gemini are brothers of the famous Hera and someone else..), and the Chinese Zodiac comes from the Chinese myths- a animal race if I remember right...and the rat tricked a bull/Ox or something. I mean isn't one of the MCU Avengers and his brother literally are Norse characters, the latter's story being how we got mistletoe, somehow?


Look at the heavy influence of everything from Greek to Hindu myths as well as historical characters. in Harry Potter even down to names of characters.

yeah even the week of Christmas is more pagan then you know. We stole it from Saturnalia holiday. But the Christmas trees aren't called Christmas trees with either sims 3 or 4 they're called "Holiday trees".

They were called Christmas trees when they were announced. Another poster provided a link to it in one of the other threads. The term is so common, it was probably a slip. Just like the Moslem-inspired thing.

I don't understand the fuss about the words. It's still the same article of clothing. Potato, potahtoe.

Thank you, it was my fault for misunderstanding your words.

I am excited about the update, because it means I am able to give one of my sim's mom's her proper headscarf. I've been using a lovely CC version of one for a while now, but I like official content too.
