I have noticed that the blog posts and such say that creating a getaway is...creating a VENUE.
The trailer and some other posts make its ound like you "Create a Getaway Excursion", but the most recent set of details phrase it as literally just creating a custom venue type and dictating what it does and how. That's way, way more broad and I think they may be mismarketing it, and not making it sound as impressive as it really is.
I have a deep dive post series explaining what, exactly, specific venues do and how they differ from each other, so I think I have a pretty solid idea of their meaningful differences...and now I wonder if venue-specific behaviors will carry forward to this system when it makes sense (like, if you make a custom venue that is a gym during the day and a night club at night, will it retain the gym and night club special specific features?). Is this pack designed to make most venue types obsolete, and only really keep specialized ones (like graveyards) necessary?
For those curious you can read the venue posts here . Examples of what I mean are things like "Cafes spawn visitors of certain types including book readers, grab-and-go drinkers, people hanging out with a friend, etc". If we make a custom venue, and give it cafe-related activities, will those same groups of sims still spawn? Will the game still spawn them based on their traits? Or are we gonna skip all that under-the-hood complexity (that, frankly, most players dont know is happening)? Very curious!
Did not read all info available, but my understanding is that creating the venue is physical, while making the resort happens as we visit and choose the detailed theme for our activities or alternatives re the romantic tv-show concept etc. Creating the venue will be evwen more interesting when making it work well for several versions.
