Originally I was intrigued by the concept of this pack, but I wasn't sure what I would actually do with it. But after watching the livestream and a few early access videos, I now have so many ideas for venues & getaways.
- I'll likely start by keeping but customizing the children's camp and fitness retreats in Gibbi Point.
- The commune is getting kicked out of the Love Highland venue, and I'm turning that into a competition-free romantic getaway spot.
- Then my first priority is to finally realize my original vision for the artist's retreat I built years ago in Sulani. I love that lot so much: huts in stilts over the water, a massage room, plenty of space for painting and yoga (and now pottery)... I can't wait to finally be able to use it as I dreamed without work-arounds.
- Similarly, after Cottage Living, I always wanted to do an agritourism vacation spot where you could learn to care for cows, chickens, (and after Horses, goats and sheep)... but it never really worked as I hoped with vacation rentals or other venues. Now it should work great! I just have to figure out the best location for it.
- I'm already working on a vineyard/nectar-making retreat in Chestnut Ridge and I may add one in Tartosa as well. (I already have a fabulous vineyard in Tartosa, but I may want to keep it as a private family home.)
- I am also going to change one of my Mt. K vacation rentals in the top neighborhood to a winter sports retreat/Simlympics.
- I want to build a horse riding camp on the 64x64 lot in Gibbi Point.
- There's a fantastic lot I've already dedicated as a senior center in Newcrest, so I'm glad I can finally do that.
- I'm also working on an idea for a kid/teen skill-building camp venue with rotating getaways on the Totter Park lot in Copperdale; I think it will have different sections that I can use depending on the specific getaway, but would include things like cheer camp, science camp, art camp, theater camp, band camp, programming camp, sports camp, etc. I might also combine getaways since we can have separate groups of campers; that should provide some great storytelling opportunities for rivalries, pranks, etc. I am really excited about being able to bring clubs to the getaways, because I created several clubs when High School Years came out, only to find out that they couldn't meet at the school, but now I can really make good use of them.
- I have a research station on the volcano lot in Sulani that is currently a national park, but I might try to change it to a custom venue and use it for some sort of getaway focused on scientific research.
- A folklore/storytelling festival for telling stories around the campfire. Probably set up at the national park in Granite Falls, but perhaps with rotating locations.
- A fishing retreat? I need to think more about potential locations.
- A yoga/spa getaway venue in the beach neighborhood in Tomarang. Still trying to decide which lot.
- An archaeology retreat venue at the base camp lot in Selvadorada. I've already updated the lot and just need to change it to a custom venue when I get the pack.
- An herbalism & apothecary festival, likely at the national park in Granite Falls, but possibly with rotating locations.
- A folk skills school (foraging, cross stitching, knitting, cooking, gardening, woodworking, pottery, flower press, candlemaking, etc.). I love this idea, but still haven't found a great location for it.
- I'd also love to do a music festival, but it might make more sense to put a pin in that idea until we (hopefully!) get a bands pack at some point.
