Yeah, the horse I have that is a free spirit will only go in his stall if I put his food bin in there ( I put it there because the first on was outside and lightning struck and turned the first one to ash) and even then I usually have to call him to eat it because he seems to prefer eating the prairie grass that is outside, I lock the gates to his roaming area because he actually prefers to sleep and eat in the off lot area, but it looks strange when he’s outside by himself. The stallion is also Brave and stays outside even in the thunder and lightning. I was wondering how a fearful horse that was also a free spirit would act in that thunder and lightning.
