It's cool that Sims 3 let you buy extra worlds and lots in the store. I wonder if we will get something like that for Sims 4 one day.
Unfortunately EA had decided not to do a store like they did for TS2 and TS3. When EA announced TS4 back in 2013, they had decided to do dlc content differently than they did for the other games. The dlc that TS4 has now comes in Game Packs and Kits which we didn't have for TS3 as they only had EP's and SP's and the store. I don't have a lot of packs for my game but I believe that the kits are like the TS3 sets where there is only about 6+ items while game packs are almost like the stuff packs for TS4 only a little bit bigger than a SP but smaller than a EP. Game Packs remind me of TS3 world packs since some TS4 GP's come with a new world. The TS3 worlds which could either be brought from the TS3 store or retail stores depending if they're paid for by simpoints or real money. New worlds from the TS3 store would have a standard version as well as a gold version. The gold version would offer simpoints to the player to either use them as they see fit or to buy the premium content that was created to fit the theme of that world. Take Roaring Heights for TS3 which is a 1930's Miami type of world which has decor from that time period as well as an old timey fixer-upper car. The store team had also created a rollercoaster venue to go with the look of the world but it was brought separately from the world which is why if the player brought the gold version of the world, they got 1900 simpoints to buy that venue if they choose to. Of course the venue could be placed in any world or players could build their own rollercoaster theme park in any world that they wanted to.
