AI routing - lazy/unprioritized implementation?

Does anyone else feel like its like that? Seems like nobody bother to implement actual AI routing collision, where Sims just phase and clip through one another. Or didn't have enough production time, but in a way they could have patched an improvement over the years. Idk.

Ideally, the way I see how they could eliminate in a way (well, reducing) routing tantrum issue, made Sims turn by their side and walk sideways to escape traffic jams.
  • I don't really mind sim clipping to each other or objects, it's not like they do it all the time, they still aware that there are sims in front of them making conversation in sidewalk with other sims and the passerby wont just go through them, they'll move a little bit to the left or right to pass, it was a nightmare in previous games calling meal so that everyone can have a nice little dinner can almost take up to an hour just to grab meal, and some of them just give up because of routing issues.

I have to admit I don't mind sims walking through things. From my own point of view it is better than seeing sims wave their arms around, which I used to find a bit annoying.
  • The routing in Sims 4 is game engine controlled from what was said of that game engine. Sims supposively will never get true route failure and if you have gotten route failure usually it is because of MOO placed content or so it has been said.

I have never once had route failure in Sims 4 to challenge that and don't use MOO ever.

There's a mod for that as well. Given that these things can be helped with mods, I have no clue why Maxis isn't doing their own fixes.

or even incorporate the mods fixes or even options.

It breaks the immersion if your Sim just walks through the coffee table all the time.

Don't bother me at all. At least they never get stuck - like in past games. Now that bothered me - this does not. To each their own I guess. Foot tapping, arms waving or clipping - I'll take clipping anytime as long as they keep moving - I am happy.

It bothers me. I have a lot of cc in TS2. And it is bothersome to the hilt when a Sim's arm (wearing custom clothes) bleeds/clips into a custom couch when you are trying to film a video story. Otherwise, it never happens. It makes the game look shoddy to anyone who won't know that is cc causing the problem. But in TS4, it does it by default (clipping) so yeah, it's very annoying if you are trying to be serious about something you want to share with others for the 'story' to go off the rails and distract the audience from the scene and action to only see the clipping stand out more.
