Alien/Mermaid Hybrids

OK, thank you. I guess I'll just have to live with them swimming with hollow bodies with nothing from the waist down, lol. It's very weird. Plus, their alien/mermaid self changes all the time on its own. First normal colored, then blue, then green, now normal colored again but the facial hair on the male is different all the time. It's so strange.

My vampire sim hybrids change their dark forms and alien forms all the time on me too. I can log in tomorrow and even though I was playing Persephone today and she had purple skin, tomorrow it might well be blue or green. :/ It's a bit jarring but there's not much we can do about it until Maxis actually acknowledges that they happen, without mods and either fixes it so they don't happen at all (as they claim is intended) or just allows the game to have them but choose forms properly so we can edit them and they stick and not have things like your missing tail.

Not sure about the mermaid/alien hybrids, but all the other hybrid types are buggy as all get out. Apparently the game doesn't allow for hybrids, and it's not supposed to be able to happen. (Is what they say) Yet they happen all of the time in my game. I have vampire/aliens, alien/spellcasters and spellcaster/vamps and every last one has something wrong with them. I'd assume alien/mermaid would be the same. They're all especially buggy in CAS and won't remember clothes you set etc. That's probably what you have here. :/

You can get an alien/mermaid hybrid through abduction and these hybrids are as buggy in CAS as all the other hybrids.

OK, it's good to know that I'm not the only one with this problem, because I really couldn't find much on it. The only solution I found was to change my mermaid back into a regular Sim by eating 2 Mermadic Kelps, then another to change him back into a mermaid, but that did nothing. One of his daughters is also an alien/mermaid hybrid, but she can have a tail. However, her skin is always blue when she's not a mermaid. I can't seem to give her a "normal" disguise. But I'm OK with that. Thank you for your input! Just another case of putting up with EA glitches, I suppose, lol.

We aren't supposed to get hybrids unfortunately so there is no real fixing it besides removing one of the occult traits, meaning the trait you don't remove will be their only one and they are then to function normally.

If you want to try it use the cheat traits.remove_trait trait_OccultAlien (if you want to remove the alien trait) after entering Testingcheats on of course.

Well this pretty much confirms I did have a hybrid. Lots of weird things happened in CAS to the point I had to delete the sim and remake. Mother was a mermaid and dad was an alien.
