Wow. There have been a lot of different angles here. I'm glad I posted this discussion. I had completely forgotten about the Sims 3 Store. To be honest I only used it once. I was gifted some points once and used them there for random objects, some of which included new gameplay, but mostly just furniture and hair that I liked. I guess nothing there was needed in order for me to feel like I was having a full experience. The same went for stuff packs in TS3. I never bought any of them, and at no point did I feel like something was missing.
That's part of what has me a bit upset. I never bought any stuff packs, for TS2 or TS3 because they didn't interest me. I honestly LIKE the idea of gameplay features being included in the stuff packs, so I COULD be interested in them... I just wish they had come up with NEW gameplay items and interactions to put into them instead of redistributing them from what were previously complete packs... it feels lazy... like they wanted more people to buy stuff packs but didn't want to risk the cost of developing new ideas for them.
